The Cal women's club water polo season came to a close at the national championship tournament with a first place overall finish after the Bears' 11-5 win over Univ of Notre Dame. Cal also played Wash Univ in St. Louis, UC Santa Barbara, and Univ of Michigan.

First 2015 Season Sierra Pacific League Tournament

The No. 2 Cal women’s club water polo team went 4-0 at their first league tournament of the season this past weekend in Davis, CA. They outscored their opponents 54-17.
The Bears opened the tournament with a dominating 23-2 win over Cal Maritime Academy and 15-4 win over UC Davis B.
The Bears continued their streak with an 8-7 win over UC Davis A. This marks Cal’s first win over UC Davis A since 2010. After trailing 2-1 at the end of the first quarter, the Bears outscored the Aggies 3-2 in the second quarter to tie the game 4-4 at half. Both teams traded goals in the third quarter for a 6-6 game going into the fourth quarter. In addition to scoring two goals, the Bears locked it down on defense, holding the Aggies to only one goal in the fourth quarter for the 8-7 win. The Aggies had the final possession with 22 seconds left in the game, but their final two shot attempts proved no match for Cal’s goalie, Abby Woodruff, who finished the game with 10 saves.
To close out the tournament, the Bears went on to beat Chico State 8-4.

The Cal women's club water polo team traveled to SoCal for SDSU's annual pre-season invitational tournament. The Bears were 4-0 at the tournament: Cal vs. UCSD, W 13-3; Cal vs. UCSB, W 12-10; Cal vs. UCI, W 14-8; Cal vs. SDSU, W 15-2.
